About the Society
The Palestinian Ophthalmological Society is the scientific and professional body representing ophthalmologists and eye-surgery specialists in Palestine. It was founded in 2001 to unite the efforts of ophthalmologists, strengthen scientific and professional communication among them, and raise the standard of eye-care in line with the latest international standards.
Since its founding, the Society has established itself as the scientific and professional reference for ophthalmology in Palestine through scientific conferences, medical days, workshops, and continuing medical education programmes, as well as by strengthening cooperation with medical institutions, universities, and Arab and international scientific societies.
The Society also works to represent Palestinian ophthalmologists, defend their professional interests, and uphold the ethics of the profession — ensuring higher-quality medical services for patients and strengthening the standing of Palestinian ophthalmology regionally and internationally.
Our Mission
To advance ophthalmology and eye surgery in Palestine by supporting continuing medical education, encouraging scientific research, strengthening cooperation between ophthalmologists and health institutions, and upholding professional ethics — positively reflecting on the quality of care provided to Palestinian citizens.
