Objectives

The Palestinian Ophthalmological Society pursues a set of scientific and professional objectives, chief among them:

  • Developing the scientific and professional level of ophthalmologists in Palestine through continuing medical education programmes.
  • Organising conferences, seminars, and workshops to keep pace with the latest developments in ophthalmology and eye surgery.
  • Encouraging scientific research and supporting studies that contribute to advancing eye-care services.
  • Strengthening cooperation with academic institutions, medical centres, and local, Arab, and international scientific societies.
  • Upholding professional ethics and commitment to the highest standards of medical practice.
  • Contributing to scientific policies and recommendations relating to eye health and the prevention of eye diseases.
  • Supporting community prevention and awareness programmes to reduce eye diseases and causes of blindness.
  • Representing Palestinian ophthalmologists and defending their rights and professional interests in coordination with the relevant bodies.
  • Contributing to the development of eye-care services and improving the quality of care provided to patients.
  • Strengthening partnership with the public and private sectors to support scientific and health initiatives and programmes.
